Sports & Recreation Club

All children with autism welcome!

The goal of our evening Sports & Recreation Club is to teach children with autism the skills they need to participate meaningfully in sports, social and recreation programs in their schools and communities.

Supported by Giant Steps staff and high school volunteers, children have fun learning and practising play, gross motor and social skills through sports, physical activities and structured group games.

The program runs 3 evenings per week, and is open to children in the community who are 4 to 14 years old with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and their siblings and friends.

“Our son Max is an active boy who has always had difficulty coping with the structure and demands of organized sports. But Giant Steps’ Sports & Recreation Club has made a difference – Max really enjoys the program and has shown remarkable improvement in Phys. Ed. classes in his regular school program. We are delighted!”
