Giant Steps is a multi-disciplinary therapy centre that builds the skills and abilities of children with autism through specialized, evidence-based therapies and life skills programming

Children who have a primary diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder and are between the ages of 3 to 14 are eligible to apply to the Giant Steps program.

Families pay annual fees and participate in fundraising events and activities.

Families are active participants in the development of their child’s therapy plans, in program planning meetings, parent training days and teaching seminars, meetings with their child’s team, and Giant Steps parent meetings.

Families are committed to carrying out therapeutic strategies and program plans at home and in community settings.

Giant Steps families pay fees for our programs and services and Giant Steps issues receipts upon full payment.

Families can pursue assistance with reimbursement of program costs through the following:

  • The Ontario Autism Program (public/government funding)
  • Extended health benefit packages (third party insurance company coverage)
  • Not-for-profit/charitable organizations (some have lotteries and other programmes that may fund some of the services), or
  • A combination of these.

Families interested in admission and programming are invited to contact us by filling out the form below.

Appropriate applicants will be invited to participate in an intake interview and assessment by our team.

Information required during the application/assessment process includes documentation of their child’s diagnosis and all medical, IBI, EIS, speech and occupational/physiotherapy assessments and reports. Other treatment/education plans that can be provided by families are welcomed and helpful.
