Our dedicated, energetic families and staff are busy year-round planning events that play a major role in the ongoing funding of our children’s therapy programs.
We welcome your help in ensuring their success. Together we’ll make a difference for kids with autism!

WHAT A TEAM of runners, walkers and donors
Together we raised over $100,000 for kids with autism!

On Sunday October 20, Giant Steps’ dedicated families, staff and community ran and walked in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon.

Together we raised $94,000 AND won $6,000 from Scotiabank for the largest fundraising team out of 191 charities!

We are proud to have celebrated our 16th year in the Scotiabank Charity Challenge at the STWM, our largest annual fundraising event.

Your support has helped raise essential dollars for our kids’ speech, behaviour and occupational therapy programs this year. We are grateful for each and every donation!

Giant Steps has now raised over $1.4 MILLION DOLLARS since we began participating in this event in 2004.

We are in great company with Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, SickKids Foundation and Fountain of Love & Life, all of us members of STWM’s Million Dollar Club!

Our heartfelt thanks to Scotiabank and Canada Running Series for enabling charities like ours to participate in a world-class event and fulfill our mission. Scotiabank generously pays for the online transaction fees, enabling 100% of donations to come directly to Giant Steps.

World Autism Awareness Day
April 2, 2019

“Raise the Flag” is an internationally recognized initiative that encourages Member States of the United Nations to raise awareness about people with Autism Spectrum Disorder throughout the world.

This was the 12th year, and our kids raised the flag again here at Giant Steps!

Thank you shoppers
The Stella & Dot Brillance Bracelet was a hit!

During the month of April, Stella & Dot Stylist Mariela McComb generously donated all commissions from the sale of this bracelet to Giant Steps.

We were excited to team up with Mariela to promote Autism Awareness.

Thank you to everyone who purchased a bracelet for your support!

Organized and run by our dedicated parent group, our 4th Annual Rummage Sale for Kids with Autism took place on Saturday May 4, 2019 at Giant Steps, 35 Flowervale Road in Markham.

There were many great bargains to be had, and we thank the community for coming out in support of our therapy programs here at Giant Steps!

Colours of the Spectrum

As part of Kids Fest, a visiting artist program, Tangled Art + Disability displayed artwork made by our students in the creative art workshops artist Carrie Perreault ran at Giant Steps in April 2018.

Their wonderful creations were an awesome kick-off to World Autism Month!

Our heartfelt thanks go out to Kids Fest and Carrie for enriching our kids’ programming and for her generous donations of art supplies.
